Dear readers,
First impressions are everything, and Maddie is somewhat of an expert at them. Having done them under multiple aliases, she is almost unwavering. However, episodes 2 and 3 have been a struggle for her. Until this episode of Imposters, Maddie has been cool, collected, and unsuspecting. None of her former prey have been untrusting, and she has won them over with ease. In the latest episode, Patrick’s auntie has heavy suspicions about his new friend Saffron. She makes no attempt to suppress her unease and lets on as if she knows something about Saffron that Patrick and his sister do not. They dismiss auntie’s distrust as grieving the death of her sister. Tracing back to episode 2, Maddie didn’t make the best first impression on Gary, either. She made some crude comments in her interview, hoping that he would easily fall for a risque new assistant. Much to Maddie’s surprise, he didn’t fall that easily and she had to clean up the mess she made.
Episode 3 has brought about some issues for Maddie. Patrick, her new more-than-a-friend, has kept her distracted while the Doctor and her accomplices have grown impatient. Maddie is treading on thin ice but is head over heels for Patrick, leading her to accept his invitation to his family cookout. She makes colossal mistakes in this episode that most definitely changes the first impressions she has made on Patrick and Gary. People say that first impressions cannot be changed, but I’m not so sure. I feel that when people have an emotionally intimate relationship, any big misstep can change how one partner views another in substantial ways. Maddie’s run in with Gary while Patrick walked her home was a big mistake, and one that I predict she will pay for in the episodes to come. If not with Patrick and Gary, then most assuredly the Doctor. Patrick will have to sleep with one eye open after the introduction of Lenny Cohen.
Thanks for reading,

I agree with what you've said. Its funny how in the first few episodes of Imposters you view Maddie as this professional con artist always 10 steps ahead of everyone but in reality she's making mistakes and doing things that are totally human like getting distracted from her job because of a new man. It's interesting how our opinions on Maddie are already starting to change.
